Catholic Healthcare Ministry
The Diocesan Healthcare Committee exists to promote Christ’s vision of care through the Church’s ministry of Catholic healthcare under the guidance of the Bishop of the Diocese. This committee has met in the past to discuss and review current medical and ethical issues within its diocesan healthcare institutions and to support the work and ministry of Catholic healthcare throughout the diocese. It is comprised of physicians, priests, pastoral care staff members, ethicists, and administrative representatives.
In the past the Diocesan Healthcare Committee has hosted an Annual Diocesan Healthcare Day in the fall since 2003. See the past Conferences and uploaded information. Currently, we participate with the Ethics Symposiums offered by OSF Health Care.
If you have questions regarding medical moral or ethical issues in medicine, please feel free to contact Msgr. Merdian at his email.
