The Cathedral Schola

The Cathedral Schola is the primary vocal ensemble at our English Masses Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m and always needs singers.  The choir season traditionally is September through early to mid-June.  Members can also join for specific seasons such as Christmas and Easter rather than full time.  Often the ensemble sings at special Diocesan Masses, weddings, funerals.  Membership is open to men and women of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels.  Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m. and also Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:00 a.m. prior to Mass.

The Cathedral Hispanic Choir

The Cathedral Hispanic Choir provides musical leadership for the Sunday 12:15 p.m. Spanish Mass, Holy Day celebrations, and bilingual liturgies at the Cathedral. Guitarists, trumpet player, and other instrumentalists are encouraged to join the choir.  Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

The Cathedral/Diocesan Cantor Program

The Cathedral/Diocesan Cantor Program serves a valuable role to the Cathedral Parish and for our Diocesan Special Events.  Anyone interested in serving as Cantor at Cathedral Liturgies should contact Jon Kroepel, the Director of Music.  Most Cantors are affiliated with one of the Cathedral Choirs or the music program of their own Parish.  Consideration will also be given based on education, experience, and willingness to learn.

The Pontifical Brass

The Pontifical Brass normally consists as brass quintet and percussion.  The ensemble plays at select Masses at our Cathedral throughout the year.  Repertoire played includes Mass parts, hymns, special choral selections, new compositions and arrangements, and stand alone brass quintet literature.  Members are secured on a per service basis.

The Cathedral Festival Choir

The Cathedral Festival Choir is an ensemble gathered together for Bishop Masses throughout the year. Diocesan events call for diocesan music ministry efforts. Separate from the normal Sunday morning choir, the Cathedral Festival Choir maintains its own schedule and rehearses less frequently.
