Urge Nurses Association to Maintain Opposition to Assisted Suicide

The National Association of Catholic Nurses-USA (NACN-USA) is sounding the alarm about a troubling proposal on assisted suicide being contemplated by the American Nurses Association (ANA). Currently, the ANA holds a position in opposition to assisted suicide. But a proposed position statement would change that position and the ANA is asking for public comment.

All are welcome to comment, but it is particularly important to urge all nurses you know to comment in opposition to the draft statement and to any change in the current position against assisted suicide. The NACN-USA has provided its comments on the proposal for those who wish to use them in whole or part as their submission.

The deadline for comments is April 8, 2019.

Comments can be posted here:

Finally, please also urge Catholic nurses who are interested in staying informed and engaged on such matters to join NACN-USA online at www.nacn-usa.org or by emailing them at CatholicNurses@nacn-USA.org.
