Historical or Geneology Research
How to proceed with historical or genealogy research
Our genealogy research is supported by a wide community across the country as it provides valuable ancestral information, as well as historical information on Catholic parishes, ethnic immigration, etc. Research is an important part of an archivist’s job. It utilizes on-site archival resources, such as microfilmed documents and physical files, and often requires additional consultation with parish offices, historical societies, cemeteries etc. Depending on the type of request, completed research usually includes copies and transcripts of documents or other material. In case of negative search results, a short review is provided, suggesting further steps in a different direction. An affordable service fee helps practical operational needs of the archives.
A requestor may contact the Office of Archives freely with any questions, concerns or research clarifications Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. by e-mail at email@example.com or phone at 309-671-1550.
Over the years, you may have acquired some historical items, such as old-time books, photographs, or other antique items for which you have no longer particular interest. If you would like to donate them or dispose of them in a respectful manner, rather than discarding them, please contact the archives as the perfect antiques collecting place.
