Bishop’s Commission on Women
The Bishop of the Peoria Diocese established the Commission on Women during the 1980's to communicate a more profound understanding of the dignity and gifts of women in Catholic life and church teaching through prayer, study and action rooted in Sacred Scripture and Tradition. The Commission continues to respond to this challenge as disciples of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in the following ways:
- To act as an advisory group on women's concerns to Bishop Daniel Jenky of the Diocese of Peoria.
- To help women of the Diocese of Peoria to become holier and closer to God.
- To provide opportunities for women to come together for prayer and fellowship.
- To encourage and aid women of the Diocese of Peoria to be a model of prayer at home and with their families and to teach their families consistent Catholic Doctrine and be an example of Christian faith in the community.
