Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with general education teachers to co-plan and co-deliver inclusive math and English lessons
- Differentiate instructional strategies, materials, and assessments to address individual student needs within the inclusive classroom setting
Utilize assistive technology and instructional aids effectively to support student learning and engagement - Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, empathy, and collaboration among all students
- Collaborate with Student Support Services to develop, review, and revise Individualized Service Plans
- Implement accommodations and interventions specified in the ISPs to meet students’ unique learning requirements
- Regularly assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instruction and support as necessary to ensure academic growth and success
- Share evidence-based strategies and resources during professional development sessions to support the inclusion of students with diverse learning needs in the general education classroom
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
- Valid Illinois teaching license with Special Education endorsement
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, preferably in a high school setting
- Knowledge of various learning abilities, behavioral disorders, and other exceptionalities, as well as evidence-based strategies and interventions
- Strong understanding of the general education curriculum, particularly in math and English
- Patience, empathy, Christian values, and a genuine passion for working with students with a variety of needs
