Title:
Administrative Assistant to the Principal
Job Definition:
The Administrative Assistant provides support to the Administration of the school and
adds to the continued improvement of the education program by maintaining faculty, staff, and student
databases. The efficient performance of his or her duties and responsibilities are an integral part of
Central Catholic High School’s system.
Reports to:

Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities, are, but not limited to the following:
Absences and Substitute Operations:
- Manages and records faculty and staff absences.
- Coordinates substitute teachers for faculty.
Personnel Operations:
- Oversees, coordinates, and organizes faculty and staff information and data.
- Oversees, records, coordinates, and distributes student information and reports.
- Oversees and prepares reports for the Illinois State Board of Education and the Office of Catholic Schools.
General Operations:
- Oversees, coordinates, schedules, and performs a wide variety of clerical and other office functions related to
the operation of Central Catholic High School. - Provides information over the phone, through email, and through personal contacts with families, students, or
school personnel, as appropriate, or directs individuals to the appropriate personnel as necessary. - Performs first aid according to established guidelines and procedures.
- Participates in continuing professional development programs as deemed appropriate by the principal.
- Assists at various school events when deemed necessary by the principal.
- Provides administrative assistance to the principal.
Qualifications:
- Adherence to the mission, vision, and philosophy of Central Catholic High School.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive and respectful relationships with others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with students, faculty, staff, and families.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling faculty, staff, and student records and school office business in
accordance with school policy and regulations. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Understand and perform duties within the scope of authority.
- High school diploma required.
- Knowledge of Google Workspace, especially Google Drive, Google Docs, Sheets, and Forms. Basic knowledge of
Skyward is preferred but not required. - Physical demands:
a. Ability to stoop, bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands.
b. Manual dexterity.
c. Ability to hear and communicate clearly with others.
d. Ability to use a keyboard to enter and transform words or data.
e. Required to stand, walk, and sit for long periods.
f. Ability to lift and carry up to 20lbs, and push or pull up to 10lbs.
Compensation:
- Hourly with starting pay based upon experience.
