These programs and services are available throughout the Diocese of Peoria to promote and defend human dignity.

Diocesan Resources

Christ Child Society

Inspired by the Christ Child and with the direction of Bishop Daniel Jenky, C.S.C., this society provides layettes for newborns in need, thereby supporting those who have chosen life in spite of difficult circumstances.

Family Resources Center

Located at 415 NE Monroe Street in Peoria, the Family Resources Center houses the Respect Life Library, is the location for several diocesan events, and offers a host of other services to the community.

Social Outreach

Every person has a fundamental right to life and a right to those things required for human decency.  Every life is sacred, no matter how challenged by poverty, abuse, disease, or disability. Every person, regardless of race, sex, and social class, born and unborn, has dignity and potential which flows from being created in the image and likeness of God.  With this foundation, Catholic Charities strives to serve anyone who is in need through several outreach ministries.

Family Life

Pope John Paul II articulated Catholic teaching of human life and human dignity as the Gospel of Life in his encyclical Evangelium Vitae (On the Value and Inviolability of Human Life). From conception until natural death – and at every point in between, human life is to be defended and developed. This is supported in the diocese by providing Natural Family Planning classes and resources for families.

Community & National Programs

40 Days for Life

40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life campaign with a vision to access God’s power through prayer, fasting, fasting, and peaceful vigil to end abortion on America.

Life Chain

The Life Chain provides a visual statement of solidarity by the Christian community that abortion kills children and that the Church supports the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception until natural death.

OSF Faith Community Nursing

Services are designed to build on the strengthening capabilities of individuals, families, and congregations to care for one another in light of their relationship with God and their faith traditions.

Rachel's Vineyard

Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat is a Catholic retreat open to people of all faiths.  It offers a safe and effective process in a confidential setting to bring the individual from brokenness toward reconciliation with oneself, with the unborn child, the family, the Church, and with God.

Right to Life Society

The mission of the Central Illinois Right to Life Society is to educate and mobilize citizens to take responsible action in defense and support of innocent human life from conception to natural death.

Women's Care Center

An unexpected pregnancy can be a hard thing to face alone.  The Women’s Care Center provides free, confidential counseling, support and education to women facing unplanned pregnancies.
