During the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy,
St. John Chapel will be open to pilgrims during the following times.

Daily from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm

Holy Mass

Masses are celebrated twice daily whenever the University of Illinois is in session, with an extra evening Mass on Thursdays. The four weekend Masses feature different liturgical and music styles.

Tuesday - 12:05 pm, 5:00 pm
Wednesday - 12:05 pm, 5:00 pm
Thursday - 12:05 pm, 5:00 pm, 9:00 pm
Friday - 12:05 pm, 5:00 pm
Saturday - 12:05 pm, 5:00 pm (vigil)
Sunday - 10:30 am (Traditional Mass), 5:00 pm (Praise & Worship Mass), 9:00 pm (Candlelight Mass)

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament & Reconciliation

Mondays through Saturday from 4:00 to 5:00 pm

While there is weekly programming geared towards the college students, there are three key opportunities in which the larger community is encouraged to attend during the spring.

Ash Wednesday (February 10, 2016)

Masses will be held at 8:00 am, 12:00 noon (also a noon Mass at Parkland College), 5:00 pm, and 9:00 pm.
Ash services will be available at 12:10, 2:00, 3:00, 5:10, and 9:10 pm.
Reconciliation will also be offered throughout the date from 8:45 am until 10:00 pm.
The Chapel will also be organizing a large book and holy article give-away that day.

Divine Mercy Sunday (April 3, 2016)

Masses will be held at 10:30 am, 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm.
Adoration and Reconciliation will be held from 11:30 am until 5:00 pm.
The Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be sung at 3:00 pm, followed by a sermon on our Lord's Mercy.

Night Fever (Date to be announced)

During the "Night Fever" event, the Chapel will be open for extended hours throughout the night. Focus missionaries and student leaders will patrol campus talking with people and inviting them to come to the Chapel and pray. Priests will be on hand for Reconciliation if anyone wishes to receive the Lord's forgiveness through the Holy Sacrament.
